Liverpool confirm £1.65bn sale of 30% stake to Bezos-backed group
FSG has sealed the sale of a third of Liverpool to a consortium including Jeff Bezos, valuing the club above £5bn.


Liverpool's owner, Fenway Sports Group, has confirmed the sale of a 30% stake in the club to a consortium that includes Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, according to ESPN and the BBC.
The Guardian reports the deal values Liverpool as a whole at £5.5bn, with the transaction itself worth £1.65bn for the minority stake now held by the new investors.
Amit Bhatia, one of the consortium's members alongside Bezos and Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin, will become the club's new vice-chairman, the Guardian added.
FSG retains overall control of Liverpool despite the sale, with BBC Sport noting the deal values the Reds at more than £5bn.
