Porto × Arouca · Primeira Liga
Goals
Match report
Porto saw off Arouca 2-0 at home on Sunday 23 August at 20:30 BST, a Primeira Liga night that stayed goalless deep into the second half. Gabri Veiga broke the deadlock on 67 minutes, and Borja Sainz added the second on 86. Arouca finished the evening without a goal of their own.
The scoreline reads comfortably, but the match did not. For most of it the two sides were level, and Porto only moved in front once Veiga finally found a way through. Sainz's late finish removed any lingering doubt and turned a tight home win into a clear one, with both goals arriving after the interval.
