Flamengo and Palmeiras won 19 of the 36 editions of the Brasileirão, the Brazilian Cup, the Libertadores and the Brazilian Super Cup played from 2016 to 2025, according to the CBF's tables and the match reports on the finals published by Conmebol. Flamengo took 11 trophies and Palmeiras 8. In nine of those ten seasons, at least one of the two won a title; the exception was 2017.
The Brazilian Super Cup, which was not played from 1992 to 2019, according to the CBF, is included with its six editions from 2020 to 2025. In the three season-long competitions, the Brasileirão, the Brazilian Cup and the Libertadores, the two clubs shared 15 of the 30 editions: 8 went to Flamengo and 7 to Palmeiras.

Only in 2017 did neither club win a title: the Brasileirão went to Corinthians, the Libertadores to Grêmio and the Brazilian Cup to Cruzeiro, who beat Flamengo in the final on penalties after a 1-1 draw at the Maracanã and a 0-0 draw at the Mineirão. Palmeiras's two 2020 finals were played in 2021: the Libertadores final against Santos, at the Maracanã, in January, and the Brazilian Cup final against Grêmio, in February and March.
Across the four competitions, Flamengo won the 2019, 2020 and 2025 editions of the Brasileirão, the Brazilian Cup in 2022 and 2024, the Libertadores in 2019, 2022 and 2025 and the Brazilian Super Cup in 2020, 2021 and 2025. Palmeiras won the Brasileirão in 2016, 2018, 2022 and 2023, the 2020 Brazilian Cup, the 2020 and 2021 Libertadores and the Brazilian Super Cup in 2023. According to the CBF's final standings, Palmeiras finished above Flamengo in six of the ten editions and collected 721 points, against 708. They finished in the top two seven times, and Flamengo five times. The two clubs finished first and second in two editions: in 2018, with Palmeiras champions on 80 points and Flamengo runners-up on 72, and in 2025, with Flamengo champions on 79 and Palmeiras runners-up on 76.
Flamengo's 2019 campaign produced 90 points, 16 more than the runners-up, Santos. Palmeiras's 2020 campaign, in a season in which the club won the Brazilian Cup and the Libertadores, ended in seventh place in the Brasileirão, with 58 points.

Each side won two of the four head-to-head finals of the period. In the 2021 Libertadores final, at the Centenario in Montevideo, the game finished 1-1 after 90 minutes, and Deyverson scored Palmeiras's winner in the 95th minute, in extra time, according to Conmebol. Four years later, at the Monumental de la U in Lima, Flamengo won 1-0. Across the four games, Palmeiras scored 8 goals and Flamengo 7, not counting penalty shootouts.
According to Conmebol, Giorgian De Arrascaeta started all four of Flamengo's Libertadores finals in the period, in 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2025, and Raphael Veiga and Gustavo Gómez started all three of Palmeiras's, the 2020, 2021 and 2025 finals.
Leaving aside the Brasileirão, which has no final, Flamengo played in 13 finals of the Brazilian Cup, the Brazilian Super Cup and the Libertadores in the period and won 8; Palmeiras played in 7 and won 4. In the Brazilian Cup, Flamengo lost the 2017 final to Cruzeiro and the 2023 final to São Paulo, and won the 2022 and 2024 finals.
In 2026, side by side again
On 18 September 2026, the Brasileirão standings on the CBF's website showed Flamengo first, with 57 points, and Palmeiras second, with 56, both after 27 games; third-placed Athletico Paranaense had 46.
In the Libertadores, the two clubs were in the semi-finals, in different halves of the draw. According to Conmebol, the ties are Fluminense v Palmeiras and Estudiantes v Flamengo, and the final is scheduled for 28 November in Montevideo; the semi-finals are in the weeks of 14 and 21 October, according to ge. In the quarter-finals, Palmeiras knocked out LDU on penalties, and Flamengo knocked out Independiente del Valle. Another meeting between the two in the 2026 Libertadores was therefore only possible in the final.
